Wholesome smoothies are just divine, aren’t they? And with the rise in popularity of the green smoothie of late, I think more and more people are discovering the smoothie goodness, especially for breakfast.

I tend to make smoothies for morning or afternoon tea breaks to stave off the hunger on the weekends, or if Ned and I are home together. He loves them too, and its a great way to get a whole bunch of goodness into him without him even knowing it. And because they are usually a bit sweet, he’s a happy drinker. I always add a fancy straw too- whether it be a retro stripey paper straw that I loved when growing up, or a bendy straw, or one of those twirly whirly straws you find at sideshow alleys, straws are a decadent, frivolous touch in a conservative world.

Here are five smoothies that can help improve your vitality, well-being and boost energy because they are filled with fresh fruits, healthy fat seeds, and nuts- not to mention the fact they taste great!
