Christmas Tree Bunting, to be decorated and embellished by young children in a fun activity!

My friend Amelia, of The Sunny Daisy Tie-Dye Creations, made up this gorgeous crafting activity for her two young girls and I loved it so much, I asked if I could share it with you. It is so easy to set up but I can just imagine the fun her two girls had decorating each tree with a myriad of combinations. Sometimes the simplest of things is truly the best.

If you would like to make your own Christmas Tree Bunting like Amelia and her girls, there are just two steps.

1. All you need to do is cut out a minimum of 10-12 Christmas tree shapes from green felt.

2. Then, fill a few dishes with all kinds of embellishments and allow the children to decorate to their heart’s delight!

Here’s a few things that Amelia had on offer:

  • felt balls
  • felt circles and shapes cut from scraps of felt
  • flag shapes out of felt
  • love heart shapes from felt
  • sparkly pipe cleaners
  • red and white pipe cleaners twisted together to make candy canes
  • wooden star shapes and heart shapes
  • and of course, glue sticks (or PVA glue and paintbrushes if you prefer)

When the trees are dry, hang them on a long length of string or cord with mini-pegs, then hang the bunting along a wall or across the door as Amelia has. Instant handmade decorating fun and style! Hand-making a crafty Christmas… yes, you can do it too.

I do love a crafting activity where the children can be given the freedom to create all on their own.  This one would be a fun idea for a quiet afternoon post-shopping!

Thank you Amelia, for sharing your fun idea.

Do pop over and give her some Facebook love. Please do tell her where you’ve come from. Her work is truly stunning! I can’t wait for my kids to wear their Snowmen tees on Christmas Day!
